UPDATE: Protocols for Responding to External Law Enforcement

UPDATE: The university has issued guidance for faculty and staff outlining procedures for responding to legal inquiries, law enforcement actions, and related requests. Please review the university’s directive and protocol here

Recent federal policy actions have prompted questions about potential impacts on higher education and our university community. As we assess these developments, we reaffirm LMU’s established protocols for interactions with law enforcement and government agencies, including federal entities.

If you encounter or become aware of external law enforcement on our campuses, please immediately refer them to the LMU Department of Public Safety (DPS). For the Westchester Campus, direct them to DPS at Foley Annex or call 310.338.2893. For the LMU Loyola Law School Campus, call 213.736.1121. DPS will verify the agency’s credentials and facilitate appropriate campus procedures. LMU only discloses information when required by a signed court order or in cases of an imminent and credible public safety threat.
