Update on Oct. 21 Campus Safety Alert: All Campus Operations Normal

Today, LMU received a report about a possible campus safety threat occurring in Lot I near Sacred Heart Chapel. Upon investigation, no threat was identified, and there is no threat to campus.

Today, LMU received a report about a possible campus safety threat occurring in Lot I near Sacred Heart Chapel. Upon investigation, no threat was identified, and there is no threat to campus.

LMU takes all reports of campus safety threats seriously, and alerts are issued as an immediate tool to safeguard the campus community. In accordance with established safety protocols, LAPD was notified, and an LMU Alert of Police Activity was issued. This was quickly followed by a Shelter In Place alert based on initial report details. 

After investigating and speaking with the reporting witness, Campus Safety and LAPD determined that no threat was present. Campus Safety then issued follow-up alerts to give the all clear and clarify the situation. 

We’re grateful to our campus community for staying alert and to Campus Safety and law enforcement for acting quickly.
