Campus Safety is investigating a pattern of motor vehicle thefts, including incidents that were carried out and those that were attempted on LMU’s Westchester campus. As these incidents are not isolated, we remind everyone to take precautions to help prevent theft.

Campus Safety is actively investigating these reports, and the safety of our students, faculty, staff, and the LMU community remains our top priority. As LMU is an open campus, we encourage all community members to practice vigilance. If you observe any suspicious activity or behavior, please remember: “If you see something, say something.”

Anyone with information about these or similar incidents is urged to contact Campus Safety. To report information or seek assistance:

  • Call Campus Safety at 310.338.2893 or dial 222 from any campus landline.
  • Submit an anonymous report via the e-report form.
  • Contact Campus Safety via email at public.safety@lmu.edu, the Rave Guardian app, or in person at the Foley Annex (open 24/7) or the satellite office on the first floor of University Hall.
  • In an emergency, call 9-1-1 immediately.

The LMU community is encouraged to review the following tips to protect your motor vehicle on-campus:

  • Always lock your vehicle and close all windows.
  • Keep valuable items out of sight or remove them from your vehicle.
  • Park in well-lit, high-traffic areas.
  • Be discreet when placing valuables in your trunk.
